The World Bank Workshop (Part I)

The workshop will start by in depth presentations on the two components of the project, the Risk Sharing Mechanism for Resource Confirmation and the Loan Facility for Resource Development. The presentations will be given by representatives of TKB and TSKB, the Financial Intermediaries working with the World Bank on this project. This will be followed by a training session on the key environmental, social and greenhouse gas climate change issues in geothermal development projects (exploration and operation), related national legislation and requirements of World Bank, how to manage social and environmental risks impacts in Geothermal projects by drawing on best practices in the sector, the GHG emissions in the Turkey Geothermal Systems and how it changes over time. There will be three presentations from speakers on the environmental, social and greenhouse gas issues and each of them will have a Q&A session. The target audience for the workshop are investors, financial institutions, technical experts, environmental and social specialists.

The workshop will provide attendees with opportunities to learn about how the World Bank is supporting risk mitigation and project finance.

The World Bank Group is a multilateral organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., whose members include most of the world's countries. 2nd Technical Workshop: Producing Geothermal Water

CO2 is the natural lift of most of the geothermal wells in Turkey. However often this lift weakens due to decreasing CO2 contents in the geothermal water. Artificial lift offers possibilities that has to be taken into account for the production of geothermal water.

This Workshop takes a closer look on this topic from different perspectives.

Forum I: Economy and efficiency of geothermal projects: Proposed and true production

ORC Power Plants have been a proven technology for many years. However, there are challenges, particularly in combination with geothermal heat as energy source. There are the composition of the fluid, the gas contents, the commissioning from economic and technical perspective and the related energy generation process influencing economy and efficiency. This forum therefore looks into the economy and efficiency, as well as proposed and true production.
